EX DRAGON CLAYMORE

203 (W) Fd Hosp (V) are seeking Level 2 Canoe Instructors who are also MLT or above over the period 1 – 6 July 2012. This is in support of the A/T phase of their annual camp, Ex (Dragon) Claymore.

The plan is to Canoe across Loch Maree in the NW Highlands (full day) followed by overnight camp and an ascent of Slioch (980m), the following day. This will be repeated with a second group. Two MLs will be in support of the Mountaineering phase.

This will give AT instructors the opportunity to gain some rare and excellent quality logbook days for Open Canoe and Mountaineering in a remote, rugged and beautiful part of Scotland. Details are as follows:

Requirements:   4 x Level 2 Canoe Instructors & MLTs

1 July               -           Travel to Cameron Bks, Inverness.

2 July               -           Canoe crossing of Loch Maree with overnight camp.

3 July               -           Ascent of Slioch (980m).

4/5th July           -           Repeat with second group. Evening function.

6 July               -           Travel back to respective units.

There is no outlay to instructors and transport costs will be covered by 203. TA personnel will have the opportunity to claim training days, subject to permission from their own units

Ex ALPINE EMU

We are an East Midlands Universities Officer Training Corps expedition looking to climb a number of 4000m+ peaks in the French/Italian Alps in September of this year. One of our primary aims is to get each member of the expedition AMP qualified.

We are looking for 2 instructors who are either Alpine Mountain Leader/Instructor qualified and backed with significant alpine experience to provide instructive support.

The dates are 9-27th of September providing us with around 2 weeks of decent alpine mountaineering.

The first phase will be in the Aosta Valley, and the second phase will be in Chamonix area. We will also be doing 2 days of via ferratta during the first phase.

Travel will be by mini bus and there will be no personal cost to the instructor.
